Skin Care with Lemon

The skin is the largest organ of the human body. Since our skin covers our body, it is the most exposed organ we have. And because the skin is exposed, people can see it. This is why many people take all the necessary measures to make their skin as perfect as possible.

There are many ways to keep your skin smooth and clean. An expensive approach is to get the services of a reputable dermatologist. However, there are also inexpensive ways to keep your skin smooth and healthy. One such way is using lemons for skin care needs. Here are some examples of how lemons can be used for skin care.

Reduce age spots. Extracting the juice from lemons and applying it directly to the skin is a good way to reduce the appearance of age spots on the skin. To do this, simply rub lemon juice directly on the age spots and leave it there while you sleep. Wash your face with cold water in the morning. If you do this regularly, you will have clearer and clearer skin after a few weeks. If you have age spots all over your body, you can juice one lemon and add the juice to your bath. To achieve the desired effect, immerse yourself in the bath for at least 20 minutes.

Brighten the complexion. More often than not, our elbows and knees are our most problematic areas when it comes to skincare. Applying fresh lemon juice to the knees and elbows will soften and brighten the skin in these areas.

Remove the black dots. Rubbing blackheads with lemon juice will also get rid of them. It is a good astringent that kills any bacteria that can cause blackheads or acne.

Neutralize oily skin. Citric acid acts as a good neutralizer for oily skin. To make a neutralizing solution, mix 2 tablespoons of lemon juice with 1 tablespoon of distilled water, then apply with cotton swabs.

Bark. Lemon juice has both astringent and exfoliating properties. You can soften the skin of your face by preparing your face mask by mixing equal parts of lemon, honey, and olive oil. Apply the mask to your face and let it dry for 10 to 20 minutes. Rinse off the mask with warm water.

Skin rejuvenation. These dead skin cells cause your skin to become rough and hard. Regular use of lemon will make your skin look younger and glowing.

Be careful, the citric acid contained in lemon is an acid and therefore can sting when applied to open wounds. If possible, avoid applying lemon juice directly to skin that is already extremely dry. If you need to apply lemon juice to dry skin, be sure to dilute it in water to minimize stinging.
